What exactly is my job as a golf coach?
More accurately, what is my job when teaching you to swing the golf club?
My job isn’t to change all your natural instincts. My job isn’t to fit you into a mold because you look a bit like Ernie Els. My job isn’t to collect your cash and hope for the best.
My job is to bring the golfer out from within you. Prophetic, I know. But, I firmly believe that each and every one of us has a swing that is the most efficient for us and as a coach/pro/teacher we can guide that out using the skills you already have. Can you walk? Yes? You can swing a golf club. My job is to figure out where it’s hiding.
You, searching for the answers on YouTube or wherever is like standing in a bucket and trying to raise yourself up – thank you to Winston Churchill for the quip. Golf is inside you. Great golf is inside you. Your golf is not Ernie’s. It’s not Tiger’s or Lydia’s. It’s yours and it lies within. My job is to help you find it.
