Remember when things were simpler? When ordering a coffee didn’t require a five-minute exchange at a high-tech till? That simplicity is what golf beginners need more of.
I like to call it “analog golf.” It’s about stripping away the distractions and focusing on the essentials. Walk the course instead of riding a cart. Judge distances with your eyes rather than a rangefinder. Forget the launch monitor and trust the feel of your swing. These are the things that connect you to the game in a meaningful way.
Analog golf isn’t anti-technology; it’s about finding balance. It’s about learning to play the game, not the gadgets. If you’re a beginner, try leaving the tech at home for a round or two. You might just find that the game feels more natural, more intuitive, and, most importantly, more fun.
