To whom do you listen when it comes to your golf? In the days of the internet and keyboard warriors and marketing experts – who, indeed, do you listen to?!

It’s very tough to distinguish who might be good for your game and who will be telling you generic information not suited to you.

My last post about methods would seem to suggest that there is a way and you should fit into it or bugger off. Not true. Methods are a series of movements needed – how they apply to each golfer is different. Soooooo….do you want to listen to Mr Marketing who spouts his own brand and his own brand only? Sure, it’s a competitive world and some self-promotion is required. Or, do you go to that guy/gal who goes about producing great coaching for their golfers without the fluff and hype?

I can name a couple who spring to mind. Kevin Smith out of Wellington keeps producing world class golfers. Matt Belsham in England is almost exclusively needed on tour. There are many in New Zealand – we seem to have a concentration of golf coaches who are world class in their own right but stay well under the radar.

My point is, just because a pro makes the most noise doesn’t make them the best for your game. Go searching – this is your golf which you spend hard earned time and money on.
