So many times in lessons I ask, “what is the point of the swing?”
The answer is almost always, “to hit the ball.”
No. No. Stop. Just stop.
The point of the swing is to propel the ball at a target. The target is never the ball.
If your target is the ball, your brain won’t differentiate between hitting it well or just hitting it somewhere. In your brain, the objective is complete – I hit the ball – yay for me.
If your target is the target down range your brain and body will help you move the ball in that direction. Yes, there may need to be a little coaching to get you in to a better aspect to be able to do that. But, in my experience most people know how to do swing a golf club already.
Not so much a technical thing but a mind thing. The golf swing can be really functional for you – if we just use the right target and intention.
Thank you to everyone who reached in response to my last post, I’m very grateful 🙂
