Life throws you little challenges at times that put things like golf, in to rather harsh perspective.
My Grandmother passed away last week aged 97. While very sad it was a blessing for her in the end. So, the family raced to the funeral, did the duties and raced home again for work and family.
Such events should make us put the game of golf into perspective. Yes, it’s very important to us but not as important as family. A dirty hosel rocket or piss missile is nothing in comparison to having your loved ones with you.
Conversely, these events should give us the opportunity to use the serenity of golf and being on the course as a therapeutic exercise. Let nature, good shots, bad shots, friends and competition be your therapy. Just as coaching will be mine.
I’m sorry I have been off the air for the last week; for obvious reasons, life happened.
And to Sharpy – if you’re reading this – how is Saturday for you?
