Let me give you the tip. Success in golf is not a straight line.
You will fail. You will get frustrated. Sometimes you’ll consider giving up. You’ll tell yourself and possibly others:
- “Lessons don’t work.”
- “I’m terrible.”
- “I can’t hit it.”
- “Why is it so hard for me but easy for them?”
- “Oooo, flushed it.”
- “Fuck this is easy.”
- “If only I had a new driver.”
Yesterday we talked about confidence being an underrated skill. So is acceptance. The sooner you accept that this game takes time the better. If you accept the bad shots and the good you’ll play better.
You don’t have to accept:
- Bad coaching
- Shitty equipment
- Wankers for playing partners
- Unsolicited advice
As the penguins would say, “Smile and wave boys.”
