So…….where does one start a great golf swing? Is it the takeaway? Is it the swing as a whole? Is it the brain?
Arguably, these can all be correct and probably the brain is most important. Visualising and deciding what you have to do is a great start. But then what?
Think G.A.
General admission?
Great ass?
Good animal?
No, no, no. It’s relatively simple. Think Grip and Alignments.
When I see a golfer the first thing going through my little brain is where they start – their grip and alignments. Is the grip too strong or weak? Is it secure? Does it suit them?

Alignments is slightly more complicated. We’re not just talking aim or how the body lines up to the target but how various parts of the body align to one another. If one of your alignments is out – it may well mean it affects the rest of the swing. It can mean your golf swing has developed a compensation too. This can lead to other problems, like drinking and grumpiness.
So, apart from getting the mind to be at ease before a shot, let’s get the G.A. in place. This will give us a better chance of getting the little white ball to the target. If you don’t what your ideal alignments are, get in touch with your coach and find out! Or ask me 🙂
