Ummm, fuck off. 62 around there? Yeah the fairways looked fairly wide but holy hell. And, there were two of them!
Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele both shot 62 around a US Open track that looks like it has been framed by green shag-pile carpet. Not in a bad way. The course is attractive but it looks as though, if your ball visited the said shag-pile you’d have difficulty moving it.
Fowler’s 62 had two bogeys in it too. Far out man. It’s hard for many people to grasp how good that is. Imagine trying to play golf on a cricket pitch and if you missed a shot you would be penalised a shot or more. I think your average 18 handicapper would struggle to break 120. 58 shots removed from R and X’s scores today.
Foxy continues to battle away and posted 68 for 2 under the card. He’s an animal 🙂 I can see him playing well for the rest of the week.
First round still going, so we’ll see what the rest of the day brings.
